Linda Schaller | Skin Rejuvenation | Radiesse

Radiesse (also known as face fillers) adds softness and structure to deeper folds of the skin and is predominantly used as a facial filler. When the Radiesse filler is injected into the skin, there is effective volume enhancement with immediate results and prolonged effects due to stimulated collagen production. Radiesse is a versatile volumising filler for deep wrinkle correction and the correction for volume deficiencies. Greater effectiveness is achieved with less product compared to other fillers.

After your treatment of Radiesse injections, you will see immediate 1:1 correction due to the gel matrix in the filler. The secondary effect that gives volume augmentation comes from collagen production through calcium hydroxyapatite spheres inducing bio- stimulation.

The results of the Radiesse dermal filler can be seen be seen for 12 months or longer in many people with initial treatments depending on the area treated and skin type and are usually maintained with an occasional follow-up.

Effective areas for treatment with Radiesse include cheekbones, nasiolabial folds, hollow cheeks, marionette lines, lower jaw line and chin fold.

Local anesthetic cream or infiltration ensures that the procedure is not painful. No pre-testing is required and results noticeable immediately making Radiesse and increasingly popular type of skin rejuvenation treatment.

Linda Schaller | Skin Rejuvenation | Restylane / Perlane

Restylane/Perlane is a stabilised hyaluronic acid gel. Hyaluronic acid is a constituent of dermal tissue (skin), which maintains local moisture content. It is a non-animal product and therefore patch testing is not necessary. Some example uses are listed below:

Restylane lips – Lip enhancement to create a fuller, more sensual border (i.e. lip fillers).

Restylane filler – Creates volume; for example cheek augmentation resulting in a subtle youthful appearance. Other general uses can include smoothing out mouth lines and frown burrows.

Restylane Vital is suitable to smooth, rejuvenate, tone and hydrate face, hands and décolletage.

How does Restylane/Perlane work?

During treatment the clear gel is slowly injected into the skin in small amounts using a micro-needle (i.e. Restylane injections). The gel particles integrate with adjacent tissues and become part or normal skin architecture, allowing free passage of vital nutrients such as oxygen. This results in healthy, natural looking skin with added volume.

Topical anesthetic cream and/or local anesthetic infiltration ensures that the procedure is not painful making Resylane another very popular type of rejuvenation treatment.

What are the side effects?

There are very few side effects when treatment is undertaken in the correct way. Some of these temporary side effects of Restylane injections include swelling, redness and bruising may occasionally occur at the injection site. The good news is that these will typically resolve within a few days.

What results can I expect and how often will I need treatment?

No pre-testing is required with results being noticeable immediately. This can last up to 9 months with initial treatments depending on the area treated and skin type and can usually be maintained with an occasional follow-up.
